Short Bio
I2013 Inductee into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame, Liz Mandeville has been tearing up stages since the '80's when she started her first band The Supernaturals and honed her craft covering artists from Bobby Bland to Slim Harpo, Aretha to Etta James.
In '96 Liz was signed to Earwig Music Co. and released 4 all original albums for that label, each charting in the top 10 and receiving Best Blues Album nominations from the Chicago Music Awards.
Liz is an award winning songwriter. She won the Windy City Blues Challenge in 2011 and started her own label, Blue Kitty Music the same year. She's released 4 albums since then, all of them have charted in the top 10 and she's developed a loyal following using social media and streaming services as well as touring and live performance.
Her music has taken her all over the world.
Liz has touched audiences from Durban South Africa to Basel Switzerland. She was a headliner on the European Blues Cruise and has also played festivals all over the North American continent and Europe.
A classically trained vocalist, with a BA in music from Chicago's Columbia College, Liz also spent 8 years training with Doug Susu-Mago who gave her an athlete's perspective on approaching music. She has developed a vocal style that is uniquely her own.
In addition to singing and songwriting, Liz plays electric guitar and washboard. Her guitar playing has been described as muscular and is rooted in classic Chicago blues and Texas Swing, although one reviewer compared her to Chet Atkins.
Liz's show is energetic, emotional and peppered with humor.
